  • - -Build quality is cheap and shoddy.
  • - -Awning fix took 15 months and was recalled at purchase.
  • - -Drawers open in transit; fridge quit, then fixed.

The quality of build-out on this RV is cheap and shoddy. It has taken 15 months to get the awning (which was on recall when I purchased from Camping World, although they didn't disclose this) fixed.

We'll see. The refrigerator quit and then mysteriously fixed itself. We'll see. And despite numerous attempts, the drawers constantly open in transit.

Empty or full makes no difference.

I am currently trying to temporarily remedy this with Velcro strips. Maybe they need to step back from all the whistles and bells and concentrate on putting together a well-built basic RV that works.

Faulty air conditioner

  • - Bought a 23 ft Mimi Winnie in fall 2023.
  • - It spent 3 months in service at Lazy Days.
  • - GE AC replaced under warranty; stopped cooling again.

We purchase our 23 ft Mimi Winnie in the fall of 2023. There were several things that needed to be fixed the so we took it back to Lazy Days for service.

Our unit was there 3 months in an attempt to get the work completed. After getting it back, the air conditioner stopped working and had to be replaced under the manufacturer warranty it was a GE. Almost 12 months later the GE unit has stopped cooling again. I don't suggest GE as they are poor quality.

We intend to upgrade using our extended warranty.

Winnebago needs to step up their game, it's not the quality it used to be. Very disappointing.

User's recommendation: Don't purchase a unit with GE air conditioners.

Poor customer service. Seemingly inept . Very lacking in their product knowledge in order to help customers with orders to place for broken parts.

AI Highlights
  • - Frederick location staff lack sufficient product knowledge, causing frustration.
  • - Customer-facing staff need more model familiarity.

Service/parts:

The Frederick location personnel seem to lack an awful lot of product knowledge and its very frustrating to deal with them as a result, so one leaves in frustration and actually angry.

It seems as though you consumer facing staff needs much more product knowledge/familiarity with your various models. This has been my experience

User's recommendation: Not a recommended strategy but hope you have no basic problems and for sure hope you never have anything slightly/more complex.

Completely disatisfied

AI Highlights
  • - Steering repairs were needed on the Winnebago Forza.
  • - Slide-outs failed seven times; wiring cobbled.
  • - Bed frame failed; windows leaked.

No response.No they don't care!

Original review Jan 23, 2025
This has been the year from *** thanks to Winnebago. All we wanted to do was vacation in the great outdoors. We bought our one-year-old Winnebago Forza diesel at the Hershey show. It needed repairs to the steering before we even took possession. Then, with the poor walk-through from General RV and absolutely no prep, our nightmare began. The slide-outs quit seven different times. General RV says that Winnebago used a wiring harness that was pieced together. Awful, especially after replacing motors.

Our bed imploded while driving, which was due to the usage of 1/4' screws. They vibrated out, causing the whole frames to bend and snap. There was one window that had begun to corrode in the metal welds. Two other windows leaked when it rained.

Then, I was washing my windows when I looked up and saw the awning was detaching from the slide-out. General RV says it was not properly installed and was missing a screw or two that was never installed.

The hood catch was another nightmare. Here, the catches were not correctly adjusted for the hood, and the hood was wearing holes in the body. General RV supposedly fixed it, but after another trip, the same result occurred.

The passenger side quarter panel was another issue. It was not attached to the frame. General RV had to remove the front exterior seal to fix it, which opened up another can of worms. The large seal at the front was not in good working order, and they needed to replace it.

All that's left to complain about is the shoddy job on the interior. We had a Ziploc bag filled with miscellaneous screws and hardware that just showed up rolling across the floor.

That's not even mentioning the appliance issues. The Whirlpool appliances were terrible. Watch out after the 12-month warranty. We are at our wits' end and feeling desperate.

Now we are 1200 miles away from home, dealing with Alison transmission issues.

I can sympathize with your issues and time wasted in trying to get someone service and try to repair your unit. We experienced a big leak roof, failed generator, failed awning, failed bath faucet on new View....

one their units they promote as a higher end model. We wanted to return our unit for a full refund but Winn declined. Local dealer networks declined to repair because they don't have the skill set. They also didn't want to get the bad reviews knowing they can't fix a poor quality unit.

Winn after 6 months decided to take the unit back to the factory for repair. After returning the unit the awning still wasn't fixed and other issues popped up. Been down another month waiting for parts. There should be a consumer alert and notice that Winnebago is committing fraud making consumers believe they have a dealer network in place to support warranty repairs.

There is proof they don't have dealers capable of handling their quality issues. The burden is left to the consumer while their CEO stuffs his pockets with our hard earned retirement funds while CEO knowingly is decieving the public and consumers.

Thanks for your response to my comments. I do realize that I am not alone in this discontent.

I often meet people at the General RV service area who share out concerns.

The problem is there are no Lemon Laws protecting us consumers who are so very disatisfied with the poor workmanship of Winnebago and their suppliers. I would nothing more than to sue everyone involved.

With the new smog regulations in California, the tech could not find the serial number for the diesel engine. We called the engine manufacturer who told us to call Winnebago.

The gentleman I spoke to listened to my situation; however, he acknowledged that the company does not keep track of that information. Fortunately, the tech did find that number needed.

Contains 1 confidential file for company representatives

2024, used three times. The battery was destroyed by the solar charger sending it too much energy.

The microwave had to be replaced for faulty internal parts. The outlet fell apart when replacing the microwave. The slideout was hitting when extending or retracting and broke the trim. The outside vent cover fell off on the highway.

And most concerning, the door does not stay closed, even when locked because it isn't properly aligned. The dealership is requesting a new door but I don't think that will solve the problem because the frame is out of alignment!

User's recommendation: Do not purchase a Winnebago

Terrible Quality of 2024 Minnie

AI Highlights
  • - Propane tanks overfilled, causing leaks.
  • - Solar module overcharged the battery; acid leak.
  • - Door won't close and can pop open; slide hits trim.
Contains 1 confidential file for company representatives

The propane tanks were overfilled, causing them to leak. The smell made me sick.

The battery was destroyed because the solar module overcharged it, causing a sulfuric acid leak. The replacement module has been ordered but not received, so the solar cannot be used. The door does not close properly and randomly pops open with any movement. The slide is hitting the interior trim and popping it off. The microwave was faulty and had to be replaced.

When being replaced, the outlet fell apart. The vent cover on the outside fell off somewhere on the highway. The track guard on the sliding bathroom door had to be replaced. The bench covers are very rough. You will get slivers when lifting them.

Plus, the hit the windows so you have to be creative when opening. I am ashamed of Winnebago.

User's recommendation: I would never buy another Winnebago

Winnebago Hike 100

AI Highlights
  • - Purchased a 2023 Winnebago Hike 100 from Crowley RV.
  • - Awning/AC failed; water heater leaked; charges totaling $3,174.81; seeking compensation.

To whom it may concern, my name is Steve. I Purchased a Winnebago Hike 100 in mid-June of 2023 from Crowley RV in Bristol, Ct.

I live in Ct.

and went to Maine the same week as purchase. Once in Maine, the awning and AC didn't work. I called Crowley from Maine, was told someone would call me, to enjoy my vacation and we'll touch base later. Never heard anything.

May of 2024, I called to follow up and complain about water now leaking from water heater and was told needed to order parts.

Would set time for drop-off once part was received. Dropped off in the beginning of June.

Mid-June of 2024 picked up camper from Crowley and was charged $2,363.65.

I was told not covered by warranty.

Called Crowley at the end of Aug. about awning still not working. Set time for drop-off.

Crowley said needed to order a part.

When part came in, Crowley said now needs a new awning motor.

Today (9/12/24) I picked up and had to pay another $811.16 for the awning motor. Was told not covered by warranty.

I find this to be unacceptable. This is a NEW 2023 Hike 100, costing me over $36,000.

I put 1/2 down. I'll be damned if I'm going to get charged for any faulty equipment or nickel and dimed by winnebago or it's dealers.

If I do not get fully compensated for the ridiculous charges totaling $3,174.81 within 2 weeks of this notice, I will file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, Consumer Protection agency, Local news' "consumer hotline", and whatever means necessary to get back what belongs to me even if this needs to go to court.

User's recommendation: Beware, and stay away.

*** made camper

AI Highlights
  • - The 2021 Winnebago Hike has had many issues since new.
  • - Leaks from sinks/windows; stabilizers fail; Formica peels; slider sticks.

Winnebago has to be the crappiest made campers ever for the price you pay. Since we bought it ( brand new) we have had nothing but issues.

It started with leaks under sinks ruining the wood, leaks from the windows, stabilizer bars not wanting to work, all the Formica on the table and counter tops wanting to come off, microwave problems, and now the the slider wont slide out! Not to mention, we do take care of it, and use it maybe 4 times a year. We have had it resealed and we do get the problems fixed, but it cost a lot. I want to write to the company and file a complaint.

Has anyone ever had these issues?

How to contact Winnebago? We own a 2021 Winnebago Hike.

we have found 24 screw on the floor, and we have lost the molding in the bedroom and just about every quarter rd on the floor. Air conditions have gone out two of them, the shower or keep cooking off track, The slide out have become stuck and we had to have those service in place at a rv campsite, so you know extra money for that.

The cabinets are playing musical chair opening every time we hit a bump as well as the microwave door. We have lost a hub cap and Lugnut covers, the fire place does not work and never has, the pot fill and ice maker never worked .We had to go purchase A Mattress as it did not have one?? The front window blind is not working. I can not believe that a coach that is this expensive is falling apart right before our eyes.

Every stinking day it is something else and we are on or second day of travel, I am ready to set it on fire. This is such a beautiful coach why is it coming unglued, I can't even say that as there is not one drop of contractors glue on anything that is popping off.The quality and craftsman ship is the worst I have ever seen, the little things like drawer closures are cheap plastic and broken,. Door fasteners are crap you are selling a high quality vehicle and have used the cheapest crap on the market, We envisioned so much more for our money. It should be noted that this thing cost as much as our house and we have a new beautiful 4000 sq ft home.l can't imagine you care as you obviously do not care about the craftsmanship of this coach. As soon as we fix every flipping thing that keeps breaking we will sell it .

We will not come out ahead. We Will make sure it is right for the next person.

Thanks for nothing and thanks for screwing up a life long dream of two public servant retirees, My husband was a two tour Naval Man and I am a retired Lt law enforcement officer.

We work and gave a lot for this dream.Sincerely Anthony and Nancy Bennett. 770713****.
