Visit to Winnebago Industries in Forest City Iowa a.
Wednesday, September 13, 2017. Pulled into the Winnebago Industries facility in Forrest city Iowa.
We explain that we had some major issues with our slides and other items. We were told that they only fix seven small items at $135 each for diagnostics. We were also told that they would not honor any extended warranty as they don't have the time to call it in. We were told we would have to pay for the parts plus the labor and $135 an hour.
They opened up a work order number 87165 and told us that they would not be able to get to it for at least a week. After much haggling our customer manager who we never met (Mr. Rod Schlingmann) was notified of our plight and was going to see what he could do, per the the front receptionist. We traveled from Cocoa Florida all the way to Forrest city for repairs that we hope would be done.
We have a 2013 Itasca Ellipse with the super slide and love it. We were very saddened by the way Winnebago runs poor people through their factory with only seven minor items, no extended warranty acceptance and tell you if they want work done, you must pay for it first. And if it could be negotiated with the warranty, that was on you to do so. I felt that Winnebago Industries was nothing more than a money making RV facility found in any state!!
After paying the amount of money, little or a lot for the product Winnebago needs to do a better customer service. People travel many miles and should feel at home at coaches birthplace.
We opted to leave Winnebago with maintenance problems on my slides and it seems like no one really cared. It really hurts me to write this review, but after taking to other folks there with our same concern, it seems justified.
