Purchased new Via 8/5/10 and in 9 weeks of ownership has been in shop 5 weeks with variety of electrical issues (seat alarms go off for no reason, horn blares and cannot be turned off without flashers on, rear camera turns on when going forward, parking brake will not disengage, TVs will not work, etc).

These issues cannot be reproduced by technicians and Winnebago's answer is to simply give it back to us with the electrical flaws still present.

We have lost confidence in the vehicle and have offered to take a partial refund which has been refused.

Winnebago's history of quality and a Mercedes chassis drove our decision to choose our RV. We deeply regret our purchase and would not recommend anyone purchase a Winnebago vehicle.

Monetary Loss: $108.

Location: Indianapolis, Indiana

did you ever get your issues resolved?

I bought a Class B 2015 BM 170C - ERA Touring Couch and it also has electrical issues which they are unable to "replicate" even though I have several eye witnesses ...

the A/C doesn't work (cab and roof) ... it was 100+ and they said "you can still drive it can't you" ... I'm highly disappointed ... there are numerous complaints on this site from people with the same issues ...

it's currently in the shop ... been in their more than on the road!

Our front seats in our 2010 Via will not stop beeping when raised. Help

We purchased a New 2010 Winnebago Tour. It was in the shop 9 times before Winnebago took it to their factory for 53 days.

I have available for your viewing work orders in detail of repeated, failed repairs.

I will share this information to prevent others from the financial burden of a Winnebago purchase.

Am looking at 2010 Winnebago via. Owner died and daughter doesn't know how to turn cameras on.

No manual.

Don't want to test drive without cameras. Please help!

Check engine light came on after control module installed. Now we are having the complete antipollution system replaced. :zzz

Guest

We had the check engine light come on and off over and over. After 2 trips to Freightliner with input from Mercedes, parts were replaced in the Adblue antipollution system.

One part not available in USA or Germany. Took three weeks to get. After fixed, drove 2 miles and check engine light on again. Back to repair shop for a new control module.

Keeping fingers crossed that this is it.

In and out of repair ever since we got it in Oct. 2010 over 17 times, now.

I own a 2011 Via also. Almost a year old now and aside from the initial adjustments it runs perfectly.

I made a great choice in choosing the Via.

Winnebago industries are very professional peopleand will make things right for you. What I see here is a dealer problem and I am sure it is not that bad as you make it seem.

I own a similar Mercedes-chassis Winnebago model, a "View". It has performed well. There were a few initial issues, including an oil leak at an engine fitting, but all the issues were comparatively minor and dealt with professionally.

It is true, regarding chassis issues, that the Dodge Sprinter organization was frequently reluctant, despite their obligations under the dealer agreement, to work on it. It is also true that Dodge/Chrysler corporate customer service, handed off to contractors, was miserable.

Nevertheless, new models - of View and Via - go in to Mercedes now for chassis service or, alternatively, to (most) Freightliner shops. It remains to be seen how the former does, but my experience w/ the latter has been generally good.

Regarding coach work, that is done by the Winnebago dealer and my personal experience w/ that has been good.

Overall, my View has given great and dependable service. We love it and know many others who are equally enthusiastic.

I have a brand new Winnebago Itasca Reyo that is 7 months old. The first month it was at three Mercedes dealers who never saw one before to address the check engine light and limp mode problem.

I had the pedal sensor replaced once, EGR three times, Turbo resonator twice, O rings once. The air filter flooded. All this due to poor design allowing water to enter the engine under the windshield. The refrigerator needs defrosting every 3 to 4 days, causing medication to have to be thrown out due to inner temp.

of 56 degrees. We are getting a new one from Dometic. The Kwikee steps had a motor that had to be replaced. The range hood fan is malfunctioning.

Laminate is coming off the closet door. Insulation is falling onto the dash board. And there were other problems as well. Winn.

won't take it back. It will pay for stuff while under warranty. We have taken only two trips and have had to have repairs both times. Once each in AL, SC, LA, CT, and twice FL at Mercedes.

Freightliner 3 times i CT, once in FL.

Camping World twice, and a Winn. RV dealer in FL., AL., RI., and CT.

Every new RV has flaws and needs service to get the unit in proper working order. With so many high tech systems in the Via you have to expect to bring it back for the occasional adjustment while under warranty.

Cheer up you have a Winnebago.

There are other brands that just fall apart after the warranty expires.

Get the warranty work done and enjoy your new Via.

If you are looking at a Winnebago via with the Mercedes diesel engine please contact me first. I have loads of information for any of you looking at a potential purchase.

The District Rep told me when I had problems with the ERA it was in part because Winnebago didn't manufacture the vehicle - of course that doesn't explain all of the electric issues and other faults with the things Winnebago installed - but they don't see it that way and have refused to make repairs under warranty now.

I would say steer clear of Winnebago!

I purchased a 2010 Via in March. Since then I have had it at four dealers (headed to the 5th tomorrow).

They have replaced the inverter, converter, refrigerator, TV, slide control unit, the dish LNB, hot water heater panel and relay. The door has been remounted, the awning has been remounted, they fixed a leak on the back of the toilet, and several flaws on the outside (paint, seal, etc.) Winnebago says they do not have any of these problems with other Vias. At first I thought mine was just a lemon - but, as with you I have lost confidence in Winnebago and should have a sign made to place on the outside (LEMON). I am now telling everyone that asks to see this "beautiful rig" all of the problems.

As for the Mercedes Diesel - the engine fan fell off after only 4000 miles - the Freightliner dealer had to *** the hood and remove the air cleaner to get to the glow plug and then broke the air cleaner cover and replaced the hood without putting the cable in the right place so the hood could not be opened. There was also an electrical problem - a drain on the engine battery that required re-wiring (first the dealer did not follow directions from the factory and mis-wired it leaving the seat warning beeper on all the time and the radio lights on when the key was removed) then finally fixed it.

Winnebago needs to (1) improve quality contro, (2) put a refrigerator in it that does not need to be defrosted every week (3) train dealers - Mercedes/Dodge - needs to train their dealers on how to repair - Note - there are usually only one dealer in each state certified to work on these vehicles. Good news is it drives like a dream and gets 16-18 MPG.

Roger everything you said. Once they have your money and there is a problem, you the consumer are hosed.

You were *** enough to think that Winnebago has decent quality and will stand behind their product. Recommend no one buy a Winnebago RV, unless they are prepared to pour hundreds and thousands of dollars fixing factory defects.

We have a windshield leak that is the direct result of major design and factory process. Winnebago says rust and corrosion are not covered, so the customer gets to pay for the repair.
