Has anyone found a permanent fix for this windshield rust problem. The dealer has fixed it 3 times and it still comes back.

I've been reading all types of different repairs, have they really worked. Also is there any legal action we can pursue? Michigan does not have Lemon Law for RV's and

warranty have expired.

I understand that this is an on going problem with Winnebago. They said they will fix it again but they want us to sign a release. We don't feel comfortable signing it and would rather have our own people do the work, since they couldn't do the job before.

Location: Chicago, Illinois

Have the same issue - now in the shop almost 3 weeks under warranty. I requested photos of the repair at each phase for my records.

I think this is indeed a model/year issue for the 2020 views, especially thos with Arctic White cab paint, which is only one coat thick, and scratches/rust VERY easily.

As far as the lawsuit, I'm in. Let's continue to blog about this and see how many owners agree, and see how far we can take this.

we had and needed our windshield replaced and paid for by winnabago. had a leak since new 2012 43 e they tried to seal everything but the right thing.

got a hold of right mechanic who knew what he was doing.

he explained that they start from front to back. when they remove windshields they are never able to save them

Ok I feel for the one that just purchased an 05 Itasca. Yes it is the dreaded rusted out front end around the windshield.

Just had ours done here in Illinois before we head your way for the winter. Cost was right at $3,000.00, which I feel should have been paid in full by Winnebago!!

You have a very good repair center close to you. Hope it all works out!!

I purchased a 2005 37ft Itasca four months ago on the first trip out had rust falling onto dash while traveling. Looks like I have the rust curse.

Did someone here mention class action suit? We are currently having the front metal all redone with because of the rusting and windshield cracking problem.

Freightliner body repair shop has it and taking pictures and documeting very carefully what has and is going to take place. Our motorhome we ordered new the end of 2004, it is a 2005 Itasca Meridian.

Yes I have contactd Winnebago also during the last 4 years and was we all know they have no problem or have they ever heard of such a thing. I will keep posted here how this all progresses.

I have a 2003 itasca with the never ending windshield leak. After several paid for fixes i pulled of all the rubber filled in all openings with roof sealent, [not the track for the rubber] replaced the rubber, then put black gorrilla duck tape [split in half] on both sides of the rubber.

No leaks. I replace tape when needed, about every 6 to 8 months

Had an extended conversation with Winnebago re: the rust problem. Winnebago asked how and nwhat process was used to replace windshields in the past.

Told them what Guardian did and they said that process would not work.

Winnebago recommends a two step primer process and a specialized cement. All work must be done indoors not in your driveway and should take several days to complete due to drying and curing time.

Getting ready to replace third set of windshields on a 2004 coach. Winnebago doesn't care and won't do anything.

They did admit that it was a poor design. Talked to local RV body shop(independent) and they said they could do a repair that would hopefully last for two to three years depending on how bad it is now. Florida lemon law does not apply on RV's older that two years. My next step is the NHTSB.

It worked for the brake problem maybe it will work for this. :(
